  1. Toadspittle says:

Toad agrees with Einstein. (That’s big of him.) Jesus was not a myth.

  2. I second that, Toad!

  3. Chris says:

Jesus Is God! Even Einstein Knew It!

  4. Simona says:

It’s fake! Einstein said multiple times he doesn’t believe in a personal god and that the reward or punishment of life after death is just human weakness. This post is made by someone who can’t accept the opinion of someone above him!

I don’t think it’s fake, Simona. The earliest issue of the SEP I have access to is the one issued on Valentine’s Day 1953, which I bought for personal reasons you won’t be interested in (there’s a picture of a baby girl in a bassinet on the front cover if you are) and so I can’t vouch for the authenticity of the quote. But it’s been attributed over and over to Einstein. And please note that Einstein is not saying that Jesus is God, even though He (Jesus) is. Read the words of wisdom above from our former contributor, Toad, and then get back to us in another 2 years.

The Internet is a wonderful invention (in some ways). Here’s the SEP cover I was referring to:

The issue date reads February 11th, 1953, and I can’t explain that. The nearest Saturday in that month fell on February 14th, but since wifey’s birthday was on Black Friday, I knew I had the date right. Is this off topic?

…we can tell the baby is a girl because the rattle hanging above her is pink.
