We have just heard of the passing of JoyfulPapist’s mother.

Please remember her in your prayers. May she rest in peace. Amen.

I recall when JoyfulPapist first began posting on the Daily Telegraph website. Her presence on the Holy Smoke blog in particular was a calming influence. While not averse to banter and mirth, she kept in mind and reminded us of to Whom we belong. My condolences to her and to her family. Here is a beautiful poem for JP and for all who grieve the loss of loved ones:

“The life that I have is all that I have,
And the life that I have is yours.
The love that I have of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours.

A sleep I shall have, a rest I shall have,
Yet death will be but a pause,
For the peace of my years in the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours.”

My deepest sympathies to Joyfulpapist…… and the promise to pray for the repose of the soul of her mother.

Having lost my own beloved mother at the start of 2012, I know what Joyful is going through. But our faith in Our Blessed Lord’s promise of where our true home is, “for those who keep my commandments”, is a great and marvellous consolation.

    A lovely poem JH!
