Cross Infection

Warning, precautions like these won’t work.

Did you know there is a pandemic going on? You should do as it has been in the wild since 2000 years ago! It is currently infecting 34% of all living people, and is spreading fast.

The unusual thing about this “affliction” is that it is non-afflicting. It doesn’t cause mortality, in fact it negates it. There is some morbidity in the early stages- withdrawal from common society, a vivid sense of “am I mad or is the whole world mad?” and the development of seemingly inappropriate joyfulness, but these soon pass, and the patient enters the “carrier” phase.

It is a condition of the soul, not the body, and has unique and unusual features. Unlike the more everyday soul upsets, which are based on an endless circularity of thought, word and deed with no possible exit point, this new entity is Cross shaped. and thus it marks the spot, once and for all. The spot I refer to is the way out.

The other weird thing about this infection is that it cannot be passed on by contact, force, or argument. The most a “sufferer” can do is to softly influence another’s susceptibility to infection, which appears to come from some hidden reservoir-like something that wells up from wherever!

The purpose of this article is not to spread alarm. The purpose is to alert the reader to the fact that this infection is out there, and there is nothing to fear about it.

Smile, you may have it already.

Come on Burrito, out with it! What is this, eh, “affliction” you refer to??

(OK, plenty of clues here. We know what it is, but it might still be a mystery to some!) 😉

For years, I swathed myself in protective shrouds, but alas, I had been infected since childhood.

Nowadays, life is all about “managing” the condition.

The infection continues to spread, despite all my efforts to stop it!
