The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 390,000 times in 2013. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 17 days for that many people to see it.
Nice to see that I was not a big mouth (969 comments) like Toad (1461 comments) last year. But seriously, it’s heartening to see so much interest in the topics discussed here. I look in just about every day, and find pearls that I would’ve otherwise missed. It strikes me that the ethos of CP&S is primarily cathecesis, not polemics. As much as l like a good tussle, the fund of history, traditions and teachings of the Church presented here by knowledgeable people with 270 years ( 6 bloggers x average age of 45 ?) or more of combined Catholic faith is an even more welcome boon.

Toad, is truly appalled by this news, and this is not one of his lies.
Resolution time!
…But this is yet another comment!

Congratulations, Toad. But let me warn you that the stats say you and I are neck and neck on being “top recent commenters” and this comment of mine will put me ahead of you by one, won’t it. Tough.
Congratulations to kathleen (who has 3 out of the top 5 most visited posts and mmvc who has one! Hooray!
kathleen, the readers love your one on the marriage cruciifix. It just show how many people still desire a good and lasting marriage.

Congratulations are hardly in order, GC.
Re-reading what I wrote earlier, I see I must clarify that I’m not a bit appalled at anything on CP&S, other than the hyper-bloviatory number of times I’ve commented.
(And yet, three more already, today. Where will it all end?)

Thank you so much dear GC! Yes, it is a heart-warming piece of evidence that the popularity of the “marriage crucifix” post shows, that (as you say) “many people still desire a good and lasting marriage”. Marriage and family is at the heart of the Christian family.
Your comments are always so interesting, witty and informative. And now we have the added bonus of having you as an “author” too – yipeeee! – enabling your outstanding talents to reach a larger audience.
Toad and johnhenry too deserve a big hug each and congratulations for all their lively and entertaining comments.
(And I hope Toad has forgiven me for all my nagging, now that he has been officially named “COMMENTATOR NUMBER ONE”! 😉 )

Dear Toad, 1cakewag indeed! Is that your top secret password known only to yourself and your bookie or did Rebrites forget to log out before you hopped on?

Yup, GC. Option 2.
And I don’t know how to unscramble it. She will have to.
(I’m known to my bookie as ‘Lucky.’ But that might well be irony. JH will know.)
