A few words of hard-hitting truth from Fr. John A Hardon S.J.

I don’t think you could get more politically incorrect (or closer to the truth) than this comment by Father Hardon. Political incorrectness does have many virtues. Truth is one of them.

“Political incorrectness does have many virtues. Truth is one of them.”
So, Robert John – we would all agree that a statement like “All Jews are evil Christ-killers,” while being unarguably “politically incorrect, ” also contains the “virtue of truth”?
I wouldn’t. Some might.

Does Father Hardon really think the indisputable and deplorable catalogue of dreadfulness he enumerates is – in some fashion – a “modern” 20th, or 21st Century phenomenon?
I suggest we always have been a masturbating, fornicating, adulterous, homosexual, society – since the time of Cain, at least. Of Sodom, I cannot speak.
More than sufficient examples of such naughtiness in The Holy Bible, the world’s best-seller, for some obscure reason.
Somehow Father Hardon has forgotten to mention “Murderous” and “Mendacious,” among his adjectives.
And, if efficient contraception had been available back then, the likes of King Solomon would have employed that, as well, if it suited him.
…Or so I suspect.
But who really knows?
Maybe we are just less hypocritical these days.
(Moderator writes: Your last sentence has been deleted Toad; it was certainly vulgar, and totally unacceptable.)

That part of your comment should be deleted. This Servant of God was a paragon of the priesthood, and your pun shouldn’t remain to sully our memory of him on this thread.
My Archbishop’s name is Tom Collins. Have a go at him if you like.

You are right, JH.
Excessive vulgarity caused by watching an emotional late-night penalty shoot-out. (or, at least, that’s my lame excuse.) Apologies. (Though I didn’t know the gentleman was dead.)
…And I also appeal to the moderators.
