The Shocking Life of Jesus – Peter Kreeft, PhD

This has to be the best talk I have ever heard about Christ. Spare 35 minutes of your life to hear it. Dr Kreeft speaks at the top of his game.

(No agenda from me: I came upon this video after casting out into the deep of YouTube looking for something else).

About Brother Burrito

A sinner who hopes in God's Mercy, and who cannot stop smiling since realizing that Christ IS the Way , the Truth and the Life. Alleluia!

  1. Maybe you should warn people about this video, Brother B. As they watch it, they may weep, they may laugh, they may fall off their chairs – but it’s very doubtful they will be able to remain indifferent! It is, as you indicate, very, very good. You may also want to let people know something about Peter Kreeft: He is a professor of philosophy at Boston College, a Jesuit institution. His conversion from Calvinism to Catholicism has been described as having been influenced by, among other things, “reading St. John of the Cross whose writings he viewed as really ‘something as massive and positive as a mountain range’ and a visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York when he was twelve years old, ‘feeling like I was in heaven… and wondering why, if Catholics got everything else wrong, as I had been taught, they got beauty so right. How could falsehood and evil be so beautiful?’” (http://www.ignatiusinsight.com/features/pkreeft_aug2_2004.asp)

Excellent video — though I have once heard a French Bishop preaching similarly, and in fact even more radically, at one of our diocesan spiritual retreats.

I wish that these sorts of teachings were given more often …
