Well, we can be very greatful that the Pope, at least, always chooses his words with such tremendous care, so that there is absolutely no confusion about what he’s thinking or about his attitude toward Church teaching.
RJB: Do I detect an ever-so-faint hint of mockery in that comment? They say that Germans don’t do irony very well, but of course, you weren’t born there 😉
