BB: I’m listening to Fr Richards right now, and he is mesmerizing (well, almost, because if I was literally transfixed, I wouldn’t be interrupting my listening pleasure to leave this comment, would I 😉
…and in fact, I have to say he’s the third best preacher I’ve ever heard, the best being the V. Fulton Sheen, and the second best being the Rev. Maurice Boyd, of fluid denomination who used to preach at this magnificent Presbyterian edifice, just 5 blocks south of St Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC…

…The reason I’m posting this comment, coitus interruptus so to speak, is because Fr Richards is an unmistakable fan of Denis Leary (the stand-up comic whose YouTube skit – one of – earned me a well deserved rebuke from CP&S a few months back) which becomes obvious at the 02:18 – 02:21 mark in this podcast where he steals (metaphorically) a well known verbal tic of Leary’s, but which I noticed right from the start of his
soliloquyhomily, leading me to think: “Hey, Denis, long time no hear!” I thought you’d like to know……but I digress… although Fr Richards’ manner of speaking does remind me of Leary, the more important point is that his sermon reminds me so much of the words I heard spoken by Rev. Boyd about 40 years ago:
