Archbishop Lenga: The Intention of the Freemasons is being implemented in the Church

This is the reprint of a rare open letter from His Excellency Archbishop Jan Pawel Lenga (bishop emeritus of the Diocese of Karaganda, Kazakhstan) on January 1, 2015 A.D., from the version published in English at Rorate Caeli Blog. Owing to its disturbing content and important revelations, we hope to draw the attention of Catholics who might have missed it when it was first published. A h/t to From Rome blog that likewise re-blogged the article yesterday.

RORATE EXCLUSIVE: Open letter by Archbishop on the crisis in the Church

‘It is difficult to believe that Pope Benedict XVI freely renounced his ministry as successor of Peter.’

‘I am forced to resort to this public means of expression because I fear that any other method would be greeted by a brick wall of silence and disregard.’

‘… increasingly evident that the Vatican through the Secretariat of State has taken the course of political correctness.’

Reflections on some current problems of the crisis of the Catholic Church

20110904e

I had the experience of living with priests who were in Stalinist prisons and camps and who nevertheless remained faithful to the Church. During the time of persecution they fulfilled with love their priestly duty in preaching Catholic doctrine thereby leading a dignified life in the imitation of Christ, their heavenly Master.

I completed my priestly studies in an underground Seminary in the Soviet Union. I was ordained a priest secretly during the night by a pious bishop who himself suffered for the sake of the faith. In the first year of my priesthood I had the experience of being expelled from Tadzhikistan by the KGB.

Subsequently, during my thirty-year stay in Kazakhstan, I served 10 years as priest, caring for faithful people in 81 localities. Then I served 20 years as bishop, initially as bishop of five states in Central Asia with a total area of around four million square kilometers.

In my ministry as a bishop I had contact with Pope Saint John Paul II, with many bishops, priests and faithful in different countries and under different circumstances. I was member of some assemblies of the Synod of Bishops in the Vatican which covered themes such as “Asia” and “The Eucharist”.

This experience as well as others give me the basis to express my opinion on the current crisis of the Catholic Church. These are my convictions and they are dictated by my love of the Church and by the desire for her authentic renewal in Christ. I am forced to resort to this public means of expression because I fear that any other method would be greeted by a brick wall of silence and disregard.

I am aware of possible reactions to my open letter. But at the same time the voice of my conscience will not allow me to remain silent, while the work of God is being slandered. Jesus Christ founded the Catholic Church and showed us in word and deed how one should fulfill the will of God. The apostles to whom He bestowed authority in the Church, fulfilled with zeal the duty entrusted to them, suffering for the sake of the truth which had to be preached, since they “obeyed God rather than men”.

Unfortunately in our days it is increasingly evident that the Vatican through the Secretariat of State has taken the course of political correctness. Some Nuncios have become propagators of liberalism and modernism. They have acquired expertise in the principle “sub secreto Pontificio”, by which one manipulates and silences the mouths of the bishops. And that what the Nuncio tells them appears as it would be almost certainly the wish of the Pope. With such methods one separates the bishops from one another to the effect that the bishops of a country can no longer speak with one voice in the spirit of Christ and His Church in defending faith and morals. This means that, in order not to fall into disfavour with the Nuncio some bishops accept their recommendations, which are sometimes based on nothing other than on their own words. Instead of zealously spreading the faith, courageously preaching the doctrine of Christ, standing firm in the defense of truth and of morals, the meetings of the Bishops’ Conferences often deal with issues which are foreign to the nature of the duties of the successors of the apostles.

One can observe at all levels of the Church an obvious decrease of the “sacrum”. The “spirit of the world” feeds the shepherds. The sinners give the Church the instructions for how she has to serve them. In their embarrassment the Pastors are silent on the current problems and abandon the sheep while they are feeding themselves. The world is tempted by the devil and opposes the doctrine of Christ. Nevertheless the Pastors are obliged to teach the whole truth about God and men “in season and out”.

However, during the reign of the last holy Popes one could observe in the Church the greatest disorder concerning the purity of the doctrine and the sacredness of the liturgy, in which Jesus Christ is not paid the visible honour which he is due. In not a few Bishop’s Conferences the best bishops are “persona non grata”. Where are apologists of our days, who would announce to men in a clear and comprehensible manner the threat of the risk of loss of faith and salvation?

In our days the voice of the majority of the bishops rather resembles the silence of the lambs in the face of furious wolves, the faithful are left like defenseless sheep. Christ was recognized by men as one who spoke and worked, as one, who had power and this power He bestowed upon His apostles. In today’s world the bishops must liberate themselves from all worldly bonds and – after they have done penance – convert to Christ so that strengthened by the Holy Spirit they may announce Christ as the one and only Saviour. Ultimately one must give account to God for all that was done and for all what wasn’t done.

In my opinion the weak voice of many bishops is a consequence of the fact, that in the process of the appointment of new bishops the candidates are insufficiently examined with regard to their doubtless steadfastness and fearlessness in the defense of the faith, with regard to their fidelity to the centuries-old traditions of the Church and their personal piety. In the issue of the appointment of new bishops and even cardinals it is becoming increasingly apparent that sometimes preference is given to those who share a particular ideology or to some groupings which are alien to the Church and which have commissioned the appointment of a particular candidate. Furthermore it appears that sometimes consideration is given also to the favour of the mass media which usually makes a mockery of holy candidates painting a negative picture of them, whereas the candidates who in a lesser degree own the spirit of Christ are praised as open and modern. On the other side the candidates who excel in apostolic zeal, have courage in proclaiming the doctrine of Christ and show love for all that is holy and sacred, are deliberately eliminated.

A Nuncio once told me: “It’s a pity that the Pope [John Paul II] does not participate personally in the appointment of the bishops. The Pope tried to change something in the Roman Curia, however he has not succeeded. He becomes older and things resume their usual former course”.

At the beginning of the pontificate of Pope Benedict XVI, I wrote a letter to him in which I begged him to appoint holy bishops. I reported to him the story of a German layman who in the face of the degradation of the Church in his country after the Second Vatican Council, remained faithful to Christ and gathered young people for adoration and prayer. This man had been close to death and when he learned about the election of the new Pope he said: “When Pope Benedict will use his pontificate solely for the purpose to appoint worthy, good and faithful bishops, he will have fulfilled his task”.

Unfortunately, it is obvious that, Pope Benedict XVI has often not succeeded in this issue. It is difficult to believe that Pope Benedict XVI freely renounced his ministry as successor of Peter. Pope Benedict XVI was the head of the Church, his entourage however has barely translated his teachings into life, bypassed them often in silence or has rather obstructed his initiatives for an authentic reform of the Church, of the liturgy, of the manner to administer Holy Communion. In view of a great secrecy in the Vatican for many bishops it was realistically impossible to help the Pope in his duty as head and governor of the whole Church.

It will not be superfluous to remind my brothers in the episcopacy of an affirmation made by an Italian masonic lodge from the year 1820: “Our work is a work of a hundred years. Let us leave the elder people and let us go to the youth. The seminarians will become priests with our liberal ideas. We shall not flatter ourselves with false hopes. We will not make the Pope a Freemason. However liberal bishops, who will work in the entourage of the Pope, will propose to him in the task of governing the Church such thoughts and ideas which are advantageous for us and the Pope will implement them into life”. This intention of the Freemasons is being implemented more and more openly, not only thanks to the declared enemies of the Church but with the connivance of false witnesses who occupy some high hierarchical office in the Church. It is not without reason that Blessed Paul VI said: “The spirit of Satan penetrated through a crack inside the Church”. I think that this crack has become in our days quite wide and the devil uses all forces in order to subvert the Church of Christ. To avoid this, it is necessary to return to the precise and clear proclamation of the Gospel on all levels of ecclesiastical ministry, for the Church possesses all power and grace which Christ gave to her: “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go therefore, and teach all nations. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and I am with you always unto the end of the world” (Mt 28, 18-20), “the truth will set you free” (John 8, 32) and “let your word be Yes, yes; No, no: for whatsoever is more than these comes of evil” (Mt 5, 37). The Church cannot adapt herself to the spirit of this world, but must transform the world to the spirit of Christ.

It is obvious that in the Vatican there is a tendency to give in more and more to the noise of the mass media. It is not infrequent that in the name of an incomprehensible quiet and calm the best sons and servants are sacrificed in order to appease the mass media. The enemies of the Church however don’t hand over their faithful servants even when their actions are evidently bad.

When we wish to remain faithful to Christ in word and deed, He Himself will find the means to transform the hearts and souls of men and the world as well will be changed at the appropriate time.

In times of the crisis of the Church God has often used for her true renewal the sacrifices, the tears and the prayers of those children and servants of the Church who in the eyes of the world and of the ecclesiastical bureaucracy were considered insignificant or were persecuted and marginalized because of their fidelity to Christ. I believe that in our difficult time this law of Christ is being realized and that the Church will renew herself thanks to the faithful inner renewal of each of us.

“It is difficult to believe that Pope Benedict XVI freely renounced his ministry as successor of Peter.”

Yes, it struck me that way too. Soon shouted down, though. Kicked out by The Freemasons, eh? Toad’s dear old Dad, often used to say, “It’s all the fault of the Jews and Masons.” …Maybe he was right.

  2. reinkat says:

This is an alarming letter, and it is good to have it brought out for discussion.
As a bit of reassurance after reading this quote from 1820: “Our work is a work of a hundred years. Let us leave the elder people and let us go to the youth. The seminarians will become priests with our liberal ideas.”
Yes, it might seem that this was prophetic for a while, but take heart: recent young priests and seminarians still in formation are vastly more conservative than their elders–and the elders are aging out quickly.
Pray for more vocations. The gates of hell will not prevail . . .

  3. GC says:

The Church depends less and less on Europe and its white colonies. They are more and more a ridiculous diminishing race that scarcely practices anyway. Let God sort them.

The Church should focus now on Africa and Asia where faith is ebullient. Move the Louvain to the former Belgian Congo. Let Enda Kenny have Ireland, they deserve him. May all pakehas leave Aotearoa to the Maoris, Cook Islanders and Tongans and return to Scotland, where they can merrily continue to contracept and their menfolk play with one another’s w*llies and all that, with or without a certificate of “marriage”.

  4. toadspittle says:

Good idea, GC. Move the Vatican to Timbuktu.

  5. toadspittle says:

    “wellies”?
    Rubber footwear fetishists?

  6. GC says:

I had high hopes for Singapore as a kind of Avignon (or Castel Gandolfo, given the temperature there)? It’s only slightly bigger than the Vatican anyway and very central. Seriously. Who cares about Europe any more anyway?

  7. toadspittle says:

    Too strict.
The Freemasons wouldn’t care for it.

  8. kathleen says:

Wow! GC – that last sentence of yours at 20:10 yesterday was pretty daring!😉

Who cares about Europe any more anyway?

    Well, I do for starters!🙂
Giving up on ‘Grandma’ Europe may be fine for those who don’t live here, but some of us Europeans who rather like living in this beautiful Continent so rich in history and the arts would prefer to challenge our enemies within instead – be they Freemasons or just their useful idiots ‘helping’ them in their plans – rather than give up without a ‘fight’. They are destroying our Christian heritage to impose their nihilism and place Satan on the throne instead of the One True God… and Christians “who are born for combat”* cannot sit back and let this happen.

It is difficult to believe that Pope Benedict XVI freely renounced his ministry as successor of Peter.

I do wish that some of the more ardently right-wing Catholics would stop peddling this urban legend (AKA “rubbish”) — one need only consult the Pontiff Emeritus’ own straightforwardly clear comments regarding his state of health and the reasons for his retirement to realise that they’re based on nothing more serious than a combination of hot air and conspiracy theory.

    http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/news/2015/04/16/pope-francis-wishes-benedict-xvi-a-happy-88th-birthday/

His personal secretary said this week that Benedict XVI has not written any theological works since his resignation.

In an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Archbishop Georg Gänswein said the Pope Emeritus told him: “If I still had the strength to write, I would not have given up the papacy.”

  10. JabbaPapa says:

And whilst it is completely true that Freemasons do in fact devise stratagems in secret that are actual conspiracies, and that they seek via such underhanded means to introduce Masonic doctrines into Government, Education, Religion, and well ; everywhere ; and that several of these doctrines are fundamentally incompatible with Catholicism — this does not necessarily mean that every ultra-liberal action of the most protestantised/liberal clergy of our Church is the result of this Masonic corruption.

Many of the various Heresies of Antiquity, the Middle Ages, and Modern times have been ultra-liberal in nature, without having been inspired by Masonic fifth columnists, particularly in those times when Freemasonry was non-existent.

Furthermore one cannot set aside the actions, whether public or secret, of the powerful population control lobby, and its encouragement of contraception (willing or enforced), sterilisation, abortion, and the widespread encouragement of homosexuality.

Nor those of the various Protestant or pseudo-Christian “churches” or sects whose purpose is to destroy the Catholicity and replace it with some hell-bound blasphemies of their own invention

    kathleen @ May 1, 2015 at 09:40

Wow! GC – that last sentence of yours at 20:10 yesterday was pretty daring!

Yes, kathleen, I was being rhetorical, I think.

Nearly everyone you speak to over here wants to visit Europe and many do, for its beauty and history, but mainly to show off to the neighbours. Historical sites and buildings of great age and beauty etc. aren’t numerous at all over here. Going to Europe for them is like staying in a museum for a fortnight and of course there are all those possible selfies. Which is strange as museums aren’t popular at all here.

I had in mind the earlier video here which told us about the situation in the Netherlands. So dismal and depressing that it’s better not to care any more and leave it to God. I still think the plague of toads idea would work, though.

  12. kathleen says:

“this does not necessarily mean that every ultra-liberal action of the most protestantised/liberal clergy of our Church is the result of this Masonic corruption.”

No, perhaps not every action Jabba, but what about the ones that are “the result of this Masonic corruption”? Surely Archbishop Lenga is right in warning us of this dangerous infiltration into the Church?

Besides, the affirmation made by the Italian Masonic Lodge states: “…liberal bishops, who will work in the entourage of the Pope, will propose to him in the task of governing the Church such thoughts and ideas which are advantageous for us and the Pope will implement them into life”.
IOW, many of those who are not formally Masons at all, will, whether through their gullibility, weakness, or suchlike, gobble up these Masonic ideas and implement them just the same.

That the Church has plenty of other foes in the secular world as you point out, there is no doubt whatsoever, but if the Masons (whose main aim is the downfall of the Catholic Church) have succeeded in infiltrating their evil mindset into the very heart of the Vatican – and once again we are reminded of Paul VI’s “smoke of Satan” – we have every reason to be concerned.

  13. JabbaPapa says:

kathleen, I was merely saying that too much focus on the Masonic attempts towards ideological manipulation of Church teaching should not be focused on to the exclusion of the other sources of corruption — I was certainly not saying that Freemasonry does not engage in these evils !!

  14. kathleen says:

Yes, I understand dear Jabba. But the good Archbishop’s words of warning go a long way in explaining much of the corruption in the midst of the Church these days. It is well known that the Freemasons are an astute and formidable force aiming for the destruction of Catholic principles.

We know “the Woman will crush the head of the Dragon” in the end, and Christ will reign Supreme… but how many souls will lose their way in the meantime through the ‘wickedness’ and ‘snares’ of the Devil?

  15. toadspittle says:

Can someone explain why The Freemason’s ambition is to destroy the Church? What have they got to gain by this? I’ve looked it up, but can find nothing relevant.
I know practically nothing about them, except they appear to be secretive gangs of businessmen who believe God is The Great Architect.
Which is what a great many other people believe, i.e. “Intelligent Designers.”

  16. Tom Fisher says:

Can someone explain why The Freemason’s ambition is to destroy the Church? What have they got to gain by this? I’ve looked it up, but can find nothing relevant.

The point, Toad, is that you can be sure that you’re still relevant if there is a sinister plot to destroy you. The Freemasons are hilariously inadequate super-villains, but they at least dress the part on weekends. To consider the possibility that there is no plot, because no one can be bothered anymore, would be to stare into the abyss.

  17. toadspittle says:

Gangs of masked and hooded Freemasons roaming the dimly-lit, labyrinthine, corridors of the Vatican, with one trouser leg rolled up, (the Freemason’s that is not the Vatican’s) and employing Traditional Catholics’ own rosary beads to strangle them?
…It all sounds a bit far-fetched to me, Tom.
But you can’t be too careful – can yer? Not these days.
    Strewth.
    Blimey, no.
(Does Dan Brown know about this?)

  18. JabbaPapa says:

Can someone explain why The Freemason’s ambition is to destroy the Church?

It’s not — their ambition is that Masonic ideas and Freemasons themselves will gain complete political control of international society.

The Church is a natural opponent of such a goal, and the Catholic teachings are just as naturally opposed to their ideology and their policies and plans — so, to achieve their long-term goal, the Masons must either destroy, corrupt, or completely marginalise Catholicism, or to make it as much as possible illegal to be a Catholic.

  19. GC says:

In consequence, the sect of Freemasons grew with a rapidity beyond conception in the course of a century and a half, until it came to be able, by means of fraud or of audacity, to gain such entrance into every rank of the State as to seem to be almost its ruling power. This swift and formidable advance has brought upon the Church, upon the power of princes, upon the public well-being, precisely that grievous harm which Our predecessors had long before foreseen. Such a condition has been reached that henceforth there will be grave reason to fear, not indeed for the Church – for her foundation is much too firm to be overturned by the effort of men – but for those States in which prevails the power, either of the sect of which we are speaking or of other sects not dissimilar which lend themselves to it as disciples and subordinates.

From Humanum Genus, Pope Leo XIII

  20. Tom Fisher says:

their ambition is that Masonic ideas and Freemasons themselves will gain complete political control of international society.

That may be so. But it might be a tad beyond them. After all The Hapsburg Restoration Movement has similarly grandiose ambitions, but the effect is more endearing than concerning.

  21. toadspittle says:

“… to make it as much as possible illegal to be a Catholic.”
How about being a Muslim? Or a Muggletonian? Anything, in fact, rather than being a Mason?
….Or is it just Catholics they don’t care for?

“…their ambition is that Masonic ideas and Freemasons themselves will gain complete political control of international society.”
…Why don’t they just buy Hello! Magazine, then?

  22. kathleen says:

Can someone explain why The Freemason’s ambition is to destroy the Church?

Toad, besides the information that Jabba and GC have given you above in answer to your question, I am going to give you a real first hand example.

I became great friends with a wonderful elderly Australian woman, who some years earlier had returned to live in Europe with her husband. After his untimely death, she came to retire in southern Spain. Her story is every bit as incredible as any of Dan Brown’s anti-Catholic rubbish, but this time the tables would be turned to show the lengths ‘the enemies’ of the Church will go to when they are thwarted.

This woman’s father had been a University history professor in Sidney and a very high-ranking Freemason. Her mother, a nominal Protestant, was a doctor and she and her sister were both working on their Ph.D’s. Apparently the whole family was pretty anti-Catholic, as you can imagine… though her father at this time had begun to have serious doubts about this position, that as a top Mason he found most perturbing.
One day when she and her sister were in their early twenties and still living at home, an absolute out-of-the-blue heavenly vision was given to the whole family! (She was quite incapable of ever giving me the details of this vision that had had a profound effect on her, but she did say it was an apparition of Our Lady.) To cut a long story short, not long afterwards the whole family together was received into the Catholic Church.

What followed belies belief – honestly. The family suffered such incredible persecutions in the years following her father leaving the Masons that it is amazing they ever came out of it alive. Her father lost his job after some totally trumped up charges were brought against him; their house was burnt down (and it was proven to be arson, but no culprit was ever discovered); her mother was also falsely accused by some patient of malpractice and also lost her job (in spite of a public manifestation in her support of all her co-workers); their dogs were poisoned; a car tried to run her parents over when they were walking along the pavement (or ‘sidewalk’) and then sped off leaving her mother injured… and so it went on. They moved away and tried to start life in another part of Australia, having lost most of their capital and their livelihood, but the persecutions continued until the very end of her father’s life.

My friend told me that her brilliant father was a wonderful man who bore no personal grudges against anyone, and that he died a grateful and devout Catholic. However, he’d had no doubts whatsoever that these persecutions were perpetrated by his former co-Masons, though no charge was ever brought against any of them. He had angered them greatly by revealing many of the secrets of the Masons, the principle one being their virulent hatred of the Catholic Church above all religions, and their sinister methods to infiltrate it so as to destroy it from within. The Catholic Church’s claim as being the One True Church founded by Christ, and that salvation comes through Her alone, is the ‘thorn in the side’ of the Masons and the stumbling block in their aim for world domination.
That is the incredible story – and I give you my word that it is just as my friend (who died a few years ago) told it to me.

Just one last thing: whenever one talks about any religion – and all are false in varying degrees, for Christ established just One Church to continue His mission on Earth – it is important to distinguish between the religion and its adherents. Naturally, not all the adherents of ‘false religions’ are evil, even if the beliefs and many of the practices of some of them most certainly are.

[Edit @ 22:20 – On re-reading this, I would just like to make one clarification: my friend’s father was not sacked from the university where he worked. The false charges levelled against him made his life impossible, so when they felt forced to leave Sidney he resigned.]
