The Third Way: Homosexuality and the Catholic Church

This is a very good and stirring movie and I ask you all please to watch it through to the end.

Last night’s post was about gay lobbies fighting God. This film is about gay persons seeking Him. The thoughts and emotions evoked in each are completely opposite.

About Brother Burrito

A sinner who hopes in God's Mercy, and who cannot stop smiling since realizing that Christ IS the Way , the Truth and the Life. Alleluia!

  1. Excellent film, Brother B., terrific.

Gee, I go away for just one week and RJB ages 10 years. It’s nice to be missed, but really…

  3. johnhenrycn says:

Haven’t watched the above video yet, but here I was thinking the July Vanity Fair cover story was about the “Third Way”? Anyway, isn’t “Caitlyn”, which means ‘pure’ apparently, totally smokin’ – for a female impersonator?

    Worrisome.

“Everyone holds their breath to see ‘Are we going to see a really big problem? Are we going to see if services are overwhelmed? Or will we see it go back down again?’ ”

The sharp rise in ice use among gay Melbourne men living with HIV

Oh dear me, what’s to be done?

The Irish Sisters of Charity of Mary Aikenhead and the Irish Sisters of Mercy of Catherine McAuley run lots of hospitals way down there. Perhaps they can help? This is not to mention all the hospitals established by the (English) Venerable Mary Potter’s Little Company of Mary and other congregations like (the Gascon/French) St Vincent De Paul’s Daughters of Charity, the hospitaller brothers and sisters of (the Portuguese/Spanish) St John of God and the sisters of (the Italian/American) St Frances Xavier Cabrini and others.

I hear, anyway, that the majority of care services for HIV/AIDS sufferers are at the Catholic hospitals of those Irish religious congregations there.

Your variously inappropriate comments have turned Robert John grey, JH.
Though not fifty shades of. …yet.

“Oh dear me, what’s to be done?”
Your heartfelt sympathy is misplaced, on this occasion, GC. All we need is several kilos of sliced lemon, and thousands of bottles of tonic water. And a vast quantity of gin of course.
(No offence, Ginnyfree.) The Sisters of Mercy will know to combine it.

Are you saying that people who get Aids should make lemonade? Talk about insensitive.

How many closets did Darwin come out of, I wonder.

Yawn. It’s satire. But Darwin did marry his first cousin, which is almost as kinky. Illegal (now) in the UK, isn’t it?

One thing lesbians who have IVF children should think about is what if Junior goes to college and falls in love there with his IVF sister? Fact is, many men who donate sperm do so repeatedly and usually with guarantees of anonymity. Of course, by the time Junior goes to Harvard in 2022, the 1%ers who rule the world will insist that he and his prospective wife undergo genetic testing to rule out the risk of consanguinity, not to mention Down’s Syndrome, etc. Carry on.

We should not forget to give our thanks and a ‘hat tip’ to our Australian commenter, Geoff Kiernan, who first brought this interesting film to our notice at CP&S a few months ago.🙂

  10. Tom Fisher says:

It’s a touching film, and well produced! I forgot he mentioned it

  11. toadspittle says:

    Oh, dear me.
Toad’s being insensitive. He’s upset JH, now.
    Oh, dear me.
    Pass the Sal Volatile, sweetie.
…On second thoughts, make that a large Vera and tonic. With plenty of ice.

(What is the matter with some of my chums, these days? I seem to constantly detect a general and pervasive atmosphere of disaffected and querulous petulance stinking up the joint. Am I imagining it? Or what?)

  12. toadspittle says:

The film’s heart is in the right place.

  13. geoffkiernan says:

Toad: “The film heart is in the right place” says something, but I not quite sure what. Let me say that it set me back on my smart, know all arse. I have a new found respect now, for these our fellow pilgrims through life

  14. toadspittle says:

Gays – in my admittedly limited experience, Geoff – closely resemble “Straights” in at least one important respect: Some are very nice people, and some are very nasty people.
Expecting them all to be either one or the other is unreasonable.
…Yet some of us seem to expect exactly that.

  15. JabbaPapa says:

…Yet some of us seem to expect exactly that.

    I don’t think that’s true, toad.

Aren’t you simply assuming the worst ?

  16. toadspittle says:

Watch the video, Jabba – “God Hates Fags.” The older I get, the more saddened (to put it mildly) I am by the way in which human beings regularly maltreat one another. Give me the other animals any day.

  17. geoffkiernan says:

Toad: God Does not hate “fags” (a term that serves no other purpose that to denigrate) but he does hate their sinful behaviour (That behaviour that involves the ‘activity’ they engage in that is complicit in the Homosexual life style , not the inclination to that lifestyle .) They are ‘pilgrims’ through life just like the rest of us. Just as he does not hate the paedophile or any other ‘sinner’. He calls them and offers the means to overcome their ‘sinfulness’
Of course our Homosexual Brothers and Sisters ‘closely resemble straights’ The only thing that separates us is sin and the only thing that unifies us is accepting Our Lords calls to repentance through the sacraments he has provided through the Church.
Give ’em a break and pray for them.

  18. toadspittle says:

    Oh, all right.

  19. geoffkiernan says:

Explain you last comment Toad. I sense it is not a capitulation and nor are you agreeing with me. What part of what I said do you not agree?

  20. toadspittle says:

    Right, Geoff.
I agree with your last comment entirely – and was merely being Toadish, as it is pouring rain and I can’t get the dogs out for a proper walk.
I also agree God does not hate homosexuals, and that calling them nasty names is wrong.
