The Firedrake Jammer

(Don’t listen to it all unless it floats your sampan)

You’ll find this little tune playing all over the shortwave bands. It is a traditional Chinese folk music piece. The funny thing is you will find it being broadcast at megawatt volume at exactly the frequency you expected to hear Radio Taiwan, or the Voice of America, or whoever else somebody doesn’t want the free Chinese peoples listening to. Funny that, innit.

Somebody is just exercising their right to share cultural heritage, aren’t they.

Yes, it’s called “jamming”, the world’s third oldest profession, after undertaking and prostitution. You don’t need a radio transmitter to do it either. Just get a lie that holds together, sort-of, and use a rent-a-mob to spread it voluminously and relentlessly until the Truth is drowned out. Simples!

There is one counter-weapon against jamming though, that they can never beat. The Christians were given it by the great DJ* Himself:

There is no greater Love than laying down one’s own life for one’s friends-in-the-Truth.

In all times and places, on all bands and wavelengths, Saints are laying their lives down for the Truth, for Love’s sake, and for their friends-that’s all of us-and guess what:

THEY’RE BREAKING THROUGH!
