    “..
not with the intention and the hope that “the Church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” will cast aside the integrity of the faith and tolerate their errors, but, on the contrary, that they themselves submit to its teaching and government.
    ..”

Pope Pius XI ON RELIGIOUS UNITY
ENCYCLICAL OF POPE PIUS XI JANUARY 6, 1928

    12. Let, therefore, the separated children draw nigh to the Apostolic See, set up in the City which Peter and Paul, the Princes of the Apostles, consecrated by their blood; to that See, We repeat, which is “the root and womb whence the Church of God springs,” not with the intention and the hope that “the Church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” will cast aside the integrity of the faith and tolerate their errors, but, on the contrary, that they themselves submit to its teaching and government. Would that it were Our happy lot to do that which so many of Our predecessors could not, to embrace with fatherly affection those children, whose unhappy separation from Us We now bewail. Would that God our Savior, “Who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth,” would hear us when We humbly beg that He would deign to recall all who stray to the unity of the Church! In this most important undertaking We ask and wish that others should ask the prayers of Blessed Mary the Virgin, Mother of divine grace, victorious over all heresies and Help of Christians, that She may implore for Us the speedy coming of the much hoped-for day, when all men shall hear the voice of Her divine Son, and shall be “careful to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

What a good and practical idea – to make all statues of religious images of chocolate. We can eat both our words, and our Gods and our saints., when we change out minds about them.

“It could mean that Martin is meant to melt in the warmth of the Pope’s presence in Rome, like those harsh, hate-filled words he used about the Catholic Church, the Mass, Apostolic Succession, the Papacy, Orthodox Catholics, not to mention the Jews, the peasants and other protestant reformers..”
Well said, Padre. No Catholic ever has, or had, a harsh hare-filled word for, say, the Jews (or for Luther.)
That would be sinful. Not to say hypocritical.

  3. Toad says:

    for “hare” read “hate”
    I hare being half-blind.

  4. JabbaPapa says:

A chocolate idol of Luther is also a good way for them to practice their iconoclasm.

  5. Toad says:

    Indeed (!) Jabba.
A moderator: Again no, Toad. You could put this sort of stuff on your own blog and view the throngs flocking there. Good luck on that one.

Looks like the Argentine infection is spreading back to Old Spain:

Lutheran confections. Argentine infections. What’s not to like about this exciting papacy! So looking forward to next year’s synod which is expected to include prayerful discernment on the discipline of priestly celibacy.

  7. JabbaPapa says:

So you still think that the Church is promoting something that the Argentine Bishops described as being particularly scandalous, just because rorate claims that a document from Spain that makes no mention of remarriage somehow “proves” that Bishops in Spain “support” the “same thing” as those in Argentina who overtly condemned it ???

    That’s a seriously heavy-duty tinfoil hat you’re wearing, jh …

  8. JabbaPapa says:

PS … NO next year’s Synod will NOT concern priestly celibacy.

  9. johnhenrycn says:

Jabbadabaadoo (20:44) – if I’m still around then, I hope I can still find this nostradamus prophecy of yours. Even if I can, you’ll probably squirm away contending that I don’t know what priestly celibacy means in Italian – or in English for that matter.

  10. JabbaPapa says:

    “Jabbadabaadoo”

  11. johnhenrycn says:

    🙂 God bless, JabbaPapa.

  12. JabbaPapa says:

Contrary to jh’s tinfoil hatted auguries :

    https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/married-priests-celibacy-not-the-focus-for-next-synod-of-bishops

The 2018 synod of Catholic bishops will focus on “Youth, faith and vocational discernment”

    I could, if I wanted, A Moderator. But I don’t’. I get a better class of reader on CP&S.
…Though what that bit of “moderation” has to do with chocolate Luthers, or how nice Pope Francis is, escapes me.
