Two contradictory statements from Tom Evans, devoted Catholic father of Alfie Evans! The first yesterday was reported on the Torch of the Faith which has been giving constant updates on the the latest developments in the Alfie Evans case for months:

Many of you will have read my three increasingly desperate and heartfelt appeals to Archbishop Malcolm McMahon on Monday. As it became clear that Alfie was not receiving nourishment, oxygen or even much water, even though he was breathing successfully for so many hours, I basically begged His Grace to do something to intervene.
Well, I see now that, in the leftist Tablet, he came out strongly yesterday.
Erm, in defence of Alder Hey and the judiciary…
The second statement from Tom Evans makes us wonder whether it was written by the hospital! Have they blackmailed him into making this announcement below or threatened him they will not even consider giving permission to take Alfie home unless he reads it out in public? This appears to be the case:

Tom Evans’ statement sounds like it was written by the hospital.
Is the family now under a gag order with the threat that Alfie will NEVER go home unless they agree to shut up and adopt the “end of life plan?” This announcement comes almost immediately after he discussed how badly they’ve been treated by the staff at Alder Hey. What a flip!
As the shroud of silence descends, it makes me think of Holy Thursday. “Judas went out; and it was night.”
Please keep praying for Tom and Kate and baby Alfie. And pray for the people of the U.K. who live under this kind of medical tyranny. Alfie won’t be its last victim!

Leviathan will not tolerate dissent. And once again the Italian, Catholic, and American response embarrassed the British government and the NHS. And Alfie, like Charlie, will not be forgotten, and there will be more.

“Leviathan” – yes! Well said, NEO! That is a pertinent name for the Big Brother godless monster ruling the secular world right now. Leviathan runs our governments, makes our atheistic laws that destroy our families and foul our minds… and now has even infiltrated the sanctuary of the Church (as Pope Paul VI realised with great sorrow in the 1960s).
All the same, it is truly heartening to witness so many thousands of good Christian people all over the world giving their undinted support to Alfie’s heroic young parents and their losing fight for the care and life of their beloved child.
Yes, Alfie Evans is not the first victim of heartless laws, and there will indeed “be more” cases like his! Remember little Charlie Gard? And in the U.S., the cases of Baby Joseph and Terri Schindler Schiavo?
Raymond Arroyo, on the World Over EWTN show yesterday, asked some good questions of his host, Fr Tad Pacholczyk, surrounding the treatment meted out to little Alfie and that of his parents.
P.S. Oops -no, the case of Baby Joseph was in Ontario, Canada. With the invaluable help of ’Priests For Life’, the parents were able to take the child home for his last precious days.
