Above is a depressing little advisory from the current edition of The Week. It reads like something from a fantastically dystopian novel about the future from the 1950s or 60s. It is the sort of thing at which we would have cackled in derision on reading. Now it is reality; or rather, what passes for reality. Dystopian it most certainly is; self-destructive, indubitably.
The first reaction on reading of a man referring to himself as “they” was the memory of Mark 5:9. Yet it is disturbing on levels not quite so immediate to the mind.

…which may explain why a priest (not the pastor) and a Sister in our parish have taken this past year to amending the usual Orate Fratres which they now recite (quite emphatically in Sister’s case) as follows:
I don’t know why they’re doing this, but a desire to neuterize may be the reason.

Pssst! Can somebody please tell these confused
idiotsmen and women that “scientifically there is no such thing as transgender“!! In reality there never has been either. It’s all in the victims’ unhappy, muddled minds… and in the brainwashed PC minds of those who pander to the so-called “gender theory” scammers.What is of far greater concern is how even some Catholics are swallowing The Great Lie! We are living in a real live loony bin today, full of the craziest hallucinations.
Devotion to the Sacred Head in a time of intellectual crisis might help the loonies in the Church (like JH’s above-mentioned “Sister”) to come to their senses – all through the grace of God, of course.

What do we care about science?
Scientifically, there’s no such thing as a miracle, an apparition, demons, the Bogey Man, transubstantiation, or the infallibility of the pope – is there?
We are in no position to drag science into anything, just because it happens to suit us to do so.
If you told a transgender person that he/she doesn’t exist, you would swiftly and unscientifically be told to go forth and multiply (although not in those actual words).
